Nuclear for Climate at COP27
The Nuclear for Climate delegation successfully participated in the COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, achieving great results in terms of engagement, meetings, and events!
With 98 badges (plus supporters), the N4C delegation made amazing efforts all these weeks, advocating, answering questions, engaging with people about nuclear, and raising awareness that #NetZeroNeedsNuclear!
We have been able to set:
- 2 booths,
- 2 social events,
- 5 N4C panels,
- 3 live from COP,
- an official UN side event,
- 2 fit4climate flash mobs,
- several activities with Melty, Bella & our Bananas!
Moreover, we took part in and organised several side events in collaboration with the French, UK and IAEA Pavillion.
During the two weeks, N4C volunteers engaged with heads of and government officials from all over the world, like Ministers from US, Egypt, Ghana, Barbados, Poland, Kenya, Iraq, and Scotland, who all confirmed their support for nuclear and to be open to having further conversations.
Furthermore, we met international bodies and UN COP Observers, addressing their concerns about safety, waste, security, or costs. Nuclear and non-nuclear delegates visited our booth, and signed our #TogetherIsBetter wall!
Our delegation recorded also huge coverage from international media! N4C volunteers have been interviewed by press agencies across the world and quoted by Reuters, BBC, France 24, The Guardian, De Telegraaf, NYT, WSJ, and TVP.
We thank you all for your fantastic support!
The increasing number of people keen to meet us and learn more about #Nuclear4Climate is our greatest achievement!
