Vattenfall Signed New Long-Term Nuclear Fuel Supply Contracts
Nuclear fuel and the diversification of its suppliers is definitely a hot topic these last weeks.
In Sweden, Vattenfall (ENS Corporate Member) has signed long-term supply agreements with Westinghouse Electric and Framatome (both ENS Corporate Members too) to secure fuel supply to the five nuclear reactors at Forsmark and Ringhals from 2024 and onwards.
We are very satisfied to continue our cooperation with two of our trusted suppliers. These agreements are in line with our strategy to be independent of individual suppliers and countries. The evaluation and decision are based on technical and commercial criteria, as well as Vattenfall’s ambitious focus on sustainability in the supply chain.

In its last Annual and Sustainability Report, the Swedish company said it plans to invest €193.2m (SEK 2bn) in its nuclear operations in Sweden to ensure that they remain well-equipped to supply stable and safe baseload power well into the future.
