Tractebel and IBA To Support Proton Therapy Construction Projects

Tractebel (ENS Corporate Member) and IBA, the world leader in particle accelerator technology, join forces to support the construction of facilities for proton therapy (PT), an advanced form of radiation therapy designed to kill cancer cells.

The agreement provides that IBA will promote Tractebel’s engineering services to its prospective customers to help them design and build proton therapy facilities.  

Tractebel’s experience in providing engineering services, consultancy and training for complex healthcare projects will so complement IBA’s offering of world-class PT technology solutions by supporting healthcare players in the construction process of the buildings that host the technology.  

The two companies have already collaborated on several projects, such as structural integrity reviews in the event of an earthquake, cost estimation tools for IBA’s Proteus facilities, stability studies related to the installation of a compact PT unit into an existing one, and engineering support for the design of PT facilities including BIM modelling.
