Framatome and NCBJ To Support Nuclear Education In Poland
Framatome (ENS Corporate Member) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Center for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) to explore opportunities and pursue collaboration in nuclear education and research in Poland.
The two companies will work together on topics of common interest including structural mechanics, thermal hydraulics, EPR technology and safety analyses of nuclear components and systems.
Lectures and other learning opportunities, joint research initiatives and internships will support a skilled workforce and contribute to the growth of Poland’s nuclear industry, Framatome stated.
Framatome is delighted to sign this MoU with NCBJ and contribute to supporting Poland’s nuclear energy programme. Our collaboration will enhance the programme, attracting and training students for long-term careers in nuclear energy.

The growing demand for workforce and the need to attract, train and retain talents in the nuclear sector are widely shared by nuclear and new-to-nuclear countries.
Poland is actively developing strong partnerships between industry and academia.
This new cooperation agreement between Framatome and NCBJ expands the existing programmes that the French company already has with the Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw Universities of Technology.
Furthermore, six Polish universities (including the three ones abovementioned) have recently launched new nuclear energy-related courses, aimed at educating and training the future nuclear workforce, so as to support Poland’s ambitious nuclear plans.
Promptly filling the gaps and enhancing international cooperation at every level – universities, industry, and research – is vital to succeed.
This is one of the key points highlighted by Pawel Gajda in our recent interview on needs, strategies and capabilities for the Polish nuclear programme. Read the full interview here.
