National Electron Accelerator Laboratory for Synchrotron Radiation Research, Nuclear Physics and Accelerator Physics – Max IV Lab

MAX IV Laboratory is a Swedish national laboratory providing scientists with the most brilliant X-rays for research. With more than 30 years of experience operating the MAX I-III facilities, it is now commissioning MAX IV, which was inaugurated 21 June 2016.

MAX-lab is a melting pot for a number of disciplines in natural science. Research is very active in chemistry, physics, nuclear physics and bio-physics. Two departments are directly present at MAX-lab: Accelerator physics and Synchrotron radiation instrumentation, but many more work very closely to the laboratory.

Swedish Centre for Nuclear Technology (SKC)

SKC supports education, research and development in disciplines of nuclear technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology and Uppsala University.

SKC, Swedish Centre for Nuclear Technology, shall provide long-term support to securing knowledge and competence development at an academic level for the Swedish nuclear technology programs. This shall be a basis for providing resources to the Swedish nuclear industry and its regulators. It means that SKC will contribute to a safe, effective and thus reliable nuclear energy production, which is an important part of the Swedish energy supply.
